1947

In 1947 Parramatta is a country-sized town: single-storey shops along Church Street, cottages on big blocks behind them, and the railway curving through the middle. The river runs along the top.

2005

By 2005 office towers fill the blocks north of the railway, and one shopping centre covers several whole blocks south of the station. Hardly a cottage is left in the frame.
